Turning Over a New Leaf

Now that I have passed my the sixtieth year and my ministry as Canon Theologian prevents me from writing on matters of the church as I did previously, I thought to use my blog site to turn to my love of gardening.

We purchased our home in 2013 in Mt. Ephraim, New Jersey USA with nothing but an empty back plot of weeds and too many mature trees along the border.  The typical American backyard. My plan is to transform it into an ornamental paradise garden for God’s glory and our pleasure. The blog is its story as I learn and grow with the garden.

This quote of Samuel Rutherford is never far from my thoughts:

Put the beauty of ten thousand thousand worlds of paradises, like the Garden of Eden in one; put all trees, flowers, all smells, all colours, all tastes, all joys, all loveliness, all sweetness in one. O what a fair and excellent thing would that be? And yet it would be less to that fair and dearest well-beloved Christ than one drop of rain to the whole seas, rivers, lakes, and fountains of ten thousand earths.”

I do hope you will join me.
